Busy day today. Worked at Parsons last night. Got Eli's 1st birthday in CV. I could just wait here at Parsons and go straight there, because it's not even a block away. But I'll go to Target before their sale goes away. Afterwards gonna go to the guys bbq in Fremont. Bad day to have a bbq, because the Fremont Art Fair is going on. They're gonna block off a ton of streets. I'll look online to see which ones and I'll try to circumvent around it. Probably go through Mission. Then, get some sleep, chill w/ the wife and dogs, and go back to work at night. Good times.
Whew! Busy last couple of days. After going to SF on Wednesday, we decided to go into the city once again and stay a night. Had to leave the pups for a day and a half. Incidientally, we came back home to a card placed in our front door from the Alameda County Sheriff's office and three piles of shit in the kitchen. Poor puppies, and poor neighbors for having to endure Jingo's barking. Fuck 'em!
Back to SF, after going to Jo's doctor appointment in DC in the morning, we went to Hana Zen on Cyril Magnin for some good Japanese food. Reasonably priced, too. The saba wasn't so fresh, though, but the breaded oysters were delish! Uh-huh, girlfriend. No, you didn't! I could do a better job at being gay than any of those fags from the fab 5.
Then, Jo used her Spafinder certificate from Noel and Arlene to get a 45-minute massage at La Belle spa near Union Square. They had a nice, relaxing waiting room, and I was more tired than a Cadillac Escalade with 24's. Get it, tired? Tires? That was bad. So I probably snored like a fruit bat in there, but fuck it. Those rich chicks need a beating. Jo spent about an hour and a half, so I got some good rest. Then we went shopping a lil', and checked into the W. Slept for a couple of hours and went oout for more shopping. Like we can actually afford anything, right now. Had some carnitas street tacos and fish tacos at Rubio's in the SF shopping center. Jo got some eyeliner at Nordstrom's. I was wearing my biker jacket and an enrique beanie, so I turned a bunch of heads from guys and gals. Guys, you ask? I was in San Francisco. 'Nuff said.
We were in the cit of love, the city that everybody leaves their heart at, a romantic place with a ton of great night spots, and what do we decide to do? Stay in, order room service, and watch Big Brother!! That was a good big brother. Holly got voted out, and HoH was left undecided with a test of stamina. Room Service at the Wis da shitz-nitty. The Turkado sandwich was hella good. Or as they say in Boston, wicked good. I ate all da damn fries. There goes my atkins.
Then we hung out with John, Verna, and her fam, and Reesy and Van. They were staying in the city, too. After that it was night-night time. 11pm and we were out. We are gettin' old. I even tried to read for a bit, but I was asleep in a minute. I also put in a CD that ALWAYS puts me to sleep - Surfacing by Sarah McLachlan.
After a restful nite, I woke up early, turned the snooze button off a couple of times, and popped in the Qi Gong video I bought earlier in Chinatown. 15 minutes of Qi Gong and I was set. I sorta like it better than Y-Dan, because it's a bit more graceful, and Martial Arts-oriented. Jo took her meds, and she needed something from the drugstore, so I high-tailed it to the Walgreens on Market. While I was in there, some chick was in line in fornt of me and checking me the fuck out. I was still wearing what I wore last night (biker jacket, enrique beanie, and faded black pants with my old ass air maxes, but this chick was on my jock. After exchanging a smile, I booked it back to our room, and passed by MOMA for the umpteenth time. I really wanted to go this time, but there was absolutely no time!
Jo and I checked out and just drove home. Been trying to sleep ever since, while Jo went to her acupuncture and chiro. Maybe I'll put in Sarah. G' night, or should I say G'evening.
It's been a minute since my last post, so I won't try to catch up. Let's start with today. Jo went to her acupuncture appointment and had a shitty session with Nancy's backup. A waste of 60 bucks. I hung out at Peet's and read my book, The Gangster we are all looking for. A pretty interesting book so far. Called most of my family members and gave them the lowdown on everything. Talked with Dad about my severe obstructive sleep apnea. We're staying in a room at the W in SF this Thursday and Friday; Accenture is having some kind of function there.
Afterwards, headed to Jack London Square to catch the Ferry to SF. To kill time, we ate at Tony Roma's. Didn't get a chance to eat anything but calamari, so I brought the BBQ pork sandwich onto the ferry with me. The ferry was cool as shit. It was very relaxing. It was also very fast, being that the boat was a catamaran. So we arrived at the Ferry Building, which we checked out for the first time since its remodeling. Very nice. On our way back home, we noticed a bunch of young peeps hanging out at the wine bar. Most everything else was high end culinary stuff and organic fruits. Went to the Embarcadero Center and shopped for a bit. Didn't get anything because the funds are not so mutual. Ate the pork BBQ sandwich, cole slaw and baked potato in the courtyard. Lots of worker bees eating lunch as well.
Walked up Sansome to go to my new job's HR at Earth Island. Met w/ Yvette and Casa (sic). Nice peeps, but I didn't know what benefits I would have since they are changing to a new provider in October. No worries, still got insurance from my other job. God, I feel like a Jamaican with all of these jobs. Remember that Living Color skit? After Earth Island, I realized I had to use the restroom (I think I used the restroom at least 10 times today). THen I came to another realization as I did a squat over the toilet: I had mud butt. Basically, the pork kalua bbq sandwich came out looking like it came in. A big pile of red shit. Felt sorry for the dude next to me in the stall. I was busting a Jeff Bridges in Dumb and Dumber. I had to flush the fucker three times. PIcked up Jo from the Starbucks I left her at. She and I walked up Columbus to North Beach. Passed by my favorite bookstore, City Lights. Went ot the Shrine of St. Francis. Prayed and lit candles for a bit, and it felt very serene and peaceful in there. I hope our prayers are answered. Maybe we'll bring the pups to be blessed in October when they do that stuff there. Funny how St. Francis became the Patron Saint of the animals. He was praying one day in the courtyard and a bunch of his followers though he was talking to the birds. Later, he said that he doesn't talk to birdsand it's all false. But a legend was born and continues to this day. It was nice to go to a church in my namesake.
Afterwards, looked for an Italian place, but gave up thinking that all of it was tourist traps. Went to the border of Chinatown and was planning to eat some Chinese Food, unitl we saw a very authentic Italian place called Firenze by Night. Jo and I had the Gnocchi and Vella all Medici (veal w/ basil, pine nuts, and a light cream sauce). It was delicioso! I think that's Spanish. Then we went to Eastwind books. As jo perused the acupuncture and health section, I bought a book on QiGong and an accompanying video. I really like the Y-Dan exercises we've been doing (although not lately), and I've heard a lot of good stuff about Qi Gong.
Finally we busted it down the hill towards the ferry (thank God it was downhill), and Jo asked how far we walked. I usually have a tendency to overestimate distances, so I said 1/5, 1/4, and if we're lucky, 1/2 of a mile total. Boy, was I wrong. It was actually 2 miles! Now I really underestimated it. I'll get it right sometime. Had quite a scare at the Ferry Building because no one aws lined up for the ferry. I called 511, and found out it would be coming in 20 minutes. WEnt back home, took our meds, played with the dogs, and now I'm at work. The kids have been especially tense tonight. GK's been talking in his sleep, as has JP. RS pissed on himself, so I had to change his sheets and his clothes. He claims he has no clothes, but I was able to conjure up some. I swear his Dad is always taking shit when he goes on his home visits. As forgetful as I am, I'm, glad I'm nowhere near as forgetful as that numbnut. Checked in with the day folk before they left. Gina's chill, Caleb asked about my new job, Sandra's her nice usual self, and Tara had aher last day and will be starting school at Berkeley...a Master's in Social Work. Maybe she'll get paid an extra 2 dollars an hour! There's so much money to be had in this field! And it's not like it's an important field! Nice girl, I wished her well, and told her about my favorite coffee joint, Strada. Bianca Mochas rock.
Woohoo! Got the job. Went to Fremont for Jo's cauterization appointment with ENT, but in talking things over during lunch at Pho 99, we figured it was best to hold off so that she could take the full regimen of baby aspirin and heparin. Oh well, back to the meds. I don't know how she does it; putting up with those shots and happy/nauseating drugs. Next cycle will come out to nearly 16 grand. Good times. It's funny how we work so hard to save money here and there, but big ass bills like these just pop up and tsunami the whole thing.
Working at Sage now with Suejy. Looks like they got another new kid, MS. Apparently, he was in Day Tx until 9:15pm, blowing out. I hope there are no issues tomorrow morning, but there probably will.

Thursday was fun. Jo had her acupuncture appointment in the morning so I went to Peet's on fourth st. and started reading this book, "The Gangster in all of Us". It's a very nicely crafted book with creative visual imagery about a vietnamese immigrant nad his family growing up in LA. So far so good. Bought a print of the Japanese Tsunami on Japanese paper for 25 bucks. Pretty pricey but worth it. Jo and I went to Bua Long and ate our favorite dishes. Albany is such a nice city. I wonder if I would have enjoyed the Rec Supervisor job if I had taken it in October. Then again, I wouldn't have been able to support Jo in her surgery and recovery if I had. Life is funny that way. Jo and I had wheatgrass shots at a juice place on Shattuck. Then, we went to California Cinema to finally watch Fahrenheit 9/11. Very touching and entertaining. Definitely biased and democratic, liberal propaganda and rhetoric, yet the facts point towards something very disturbing still. Returned home ready to clean like hell, but ended up sleeping and watching BB5. Put up the Total Gym and got irritated at Jo. She's been really on edge lately.
Walked the dogs from 10-11:30pm and then I got a call from Wayne. Apparently I was supposed to work at Sage. I should have checked my schedule with Cicely, but I thought I would be off since I worked 5 days already. Would have been feasible to check. Went to Crane and worked with Marlon. I would have worked with Suejy at Sage, which is sometimes difficult because she doesn't usually split it. Still a nice girl to talk to, though. Enjoyed working with Marlon. He told me about Ben's termination, and stories about little ole' Lee. And Little Lee. And his infatuation with arms, especially elbows. Despite being the most assaultive, mentally challenged kid in the program for the past two to three years, it's funny how endearing he was to many staff members. Transported JP at Crane this morning to Day TX. That kid is a ball of pure white hot energy. His MO is to get timeouts and sits in the morning so that the MHA's and overnights don't have to deal with his silliness. Poor kid. He's used to it too. Once I got him in the car, he was able to focus himslef and we had a fun ride to Day TX. First we saw a house with a huge frontyard get TP'd. Ofcourse I had to explain this concept to JP without glamorizing the perpetrators. It was hard, though, because it looked like they did a good job. Ah, those were the days. Then we were at the intersection of 7 hills and Lake Chabot, and a gaggle of Canadian Geese were leisurely crossing the street. Took a picture of it, too.
Went directly home, so that Jo and I could go to Los Gatos for her appt. w/ Dr. Cook. He took an ultrasound of her and found a cyst on her left ovary. It doesn't appear to be an endometrioma, but he's been wrong before. It's pretty big at 14 mm. Hopefully it's an acutal egg sac, which means her ovary ovulated and produced an egg! More good news is that there is no endometrioma or cyst even on her right ovary. She had been getting a lot fo pain on that side, but Dr. Cook said it was probably scar tissue and adhesions from the surgery in December and/or the egg retrieval in June. Good times.
Jo went to get groceries at Whole Foods in Campbell while I slept in the car. Luckily we didn't run into you-know-who. It was nice to see their progeny on Noel's b-day. The kid is well- mannered and so darn cute. Hadn't seen him in a while because of the baggage that he carries.
Finally, had our Seneca annual dinner at Hs Lordhips in Berks tonight. Saw a bunch of peeps and introduced Jo to them. God, Jo was looking delicious tonight. She had on this beautiful see through black dress-pant hybrid that made her look like Audrey Hepburn. Didn't get a chance to dance, becaue I had to go into work, but at least we spent some quality time alone, watching the sunset, and whispering sweet nothings to each other. Saw Kevin and Carmen form CBS. Hadn't seen them in a long time. Also saw the punk overnight chicks. They irk me the wrong way so much. They remind so much of Marvin from BB5, slimy and manipulative, petty and judgemental. Didn't give them the chance to get me irritated, so I only ent up to positive folk like Travis, Amy (who was on beeper and told me to go to work!), Sandra, Tara, Rashida, Big Kev, Carmen, Moses, Al, etc. Good times all around.
On tap this weekend:
Call John and ask him about LV
drop off b-day gifts to John and Verna
Clean entire house
return phones and pay bills
Walk dogs, and jog on concrete; wash those little dirtballs
get lamps already!
car wash
Rasputin's for dvd's
Woke up this morning sore as a mother. Your mother after I got through with her! Just kidding. I can't pass by a good mother joke. I think it's because we didn't do Y-Dan the day before. Hence, we did Y-dan in the morning. The other day, we were cleaning through the guestroom to look for numbers of my old teacher friends. We came across a bunch of old crap. Cards, letters, emails, pics, diplomas, our marriage certificate, etc. I'm gonna organize everything soon. Played Scrabble; even though Jo says she beat me, I let her win in the end. I was so tired and sleepy that I told her just to put anything down, so she put dowm the word "Jol" knowing full well it wasn't valid. What a dork-nugget. Slept for three hours. Went to SF, had some sushi rolls at Opera Plaza Sushi on Van Ness, and had to high tail it to the inner Richmond to make our adoption seminar. Went well; lots of decisions to make in the next couple of weeks. Went to Hukilai, but a couple of people at the door told us that they were closed on Tuesdays. It looked like it was bustling inside, though. Maybe they were just fucking with us. I'm gonna check their hours. Instead, headed towards the freeways, and passed by this place called Citizen Cake. Had a really good pork chop with some fried pasta and peaches, and Jo had duck breast with baby spinach and leeks. They were both pretty good. The coup de tat was the dessert: chocolate chip ice cream with mwhite chocolate covered macadamia nuts, cream, and a ccokie crust. Jo had some blueberry parfait. They were both good. Downed it with a mocha. Spent 75 bucks for that, and 25 for sushi. Gotta cut back the rest of the month. Fuck it, it's only once in a blue moon we go in to the city. Took us a good 1 and a half hours to get in (even during reverse commute), so that's part of the reason why.
Went into work at 11pm. Beeper called to see where I was. Apparently, the staff at Parsons was sweating whether or not the overnight was gonna come. Shit, first half deserves to sweat because they've got me leaving hella late in the morning on Sundays. Karma's a bitch. Anyways, it's legit because the staffing coordinator told me to come in at 11 to reduce my hours, since I'm on 4 nights a week. Even Al come out right when I came in. I remember when he got hella mad at me for coming in half an hour late. Serves his ass right. Although, the whole day, he was trying to get LM off the roof. Regardless, his ass got served by Karma, too.
Got pissed at Jo for criticizing my driving. Some chick cut me off, and I cut off her lane when she was trying to weave in and out through traffic like Mario Andretti. Jo thought I was fucking with her, when alls I was doing was not trying to get cut off by her. I finally had it after she kept on yelling at me, so I yelled at her back. She got the picture. She'll never apologize for something unless it's absolutely, positvely her bad (even then it's as a rare as a four-leaf clover), so I took her silence all the way home as a reprieve. Anyways, it's our 10 year wedding anniversary! Even though we've been technically married for almost 5 years, we got married in spirit 10 years ago in the gazebo of Ardenwood Farm. That certainly was a magical day.
Jo decided to come over after one of my shifts during the weekday. It dies down big time after a weekday afternoon. Jeff, the ranger and a dude I admire tremendously, told me to take the mule out and go for a ride. So we did. The mule is this ATV that looks like an off-road golf cart. We went all over the Farm, even towards the row of dilapidated houses, and to the eucalyptus forest to see some monarchs. We went to the big haystack and rolled around in the hay, making out. Nary a soul, other than the resident western fence lizard saw us. Then we headed over to the gazebo in fornt of the Patterson home and laid in the grass. We thought how cool it would be if we got married in the gazebo, so I obliged. We said our vows in the gazebo, with our only witnesses being a red tail hawk, and the gopher it was after in the ground. Needless to say, it was very romantic. The young poor farm boy, and this rich city girl tying the knot before God only, and living the rest of our lives in perfect love and harmony.

Worked at Sage last night; Stacey really did an amazing job with that house. It's impeccable, organized, and nicely decorated. Met the MHA's, Victoria and Travis. Nice folk. Transported LS, AB, and RO and had no incidents until I reacher Day TX. Saw the other overnights, and they gave me the cold shoulder. Still killin' them with kindness, though. What a bunch of immature shitheads. They complain about the politickin' and rumormill, when they are the ones who perpetuate with their gossip.
Enough of the negativity. Put in my time off request for IVF and adoption seminars. Got a bunch of them in late July and August. Went home and slept like a baby. Ron came over for dinner and we roasted a Rosie Farms chicken. It was pretty tasty.
Got a call from Mandi regarding the lack of reference contact and current letters of recommendation. She left messages with Kevin and Laura. Hope they call her back soon. Left a couple of message with her to tell her that I'll be working on it.
Called Louise and Hadea (for Mike), and caught up. Louise is now a Superintendent and is probably making upwards of 80k/yr. She hates it, though. Kevin's giving her vehicles, which she has no idea what to do with. Hadea (sic) gave me the update on Recep and Mike. Recep's almost done with school, and Mike's in FL fucking around with alligators and crocs until the nd of the month. Last year, he went to Africa to fuck around with the Nile crocs. What a life. Ofcourse, Hadea has to take care of the >100 snakes and reptiles that he keeps. What a job. They got a companion for one-eyed Sally.....a boxer pup whose now 1 year old. That's great for Sally, because she plays the mother role to him.
Left a message with Jonas, Maria, and now Lucas. Also looking for Abby's number but she's not listed and her old number's defunct.
Worked for the past 3 nights; twice at Parsons, once at Sage. Up for work tomorrow at Parsons w/ Rich. I miss working with him; he's definitely good people. Talked to him and Gina about Jo's medical issues. Gina discloses that she has premature ovarian failure. How sad. What a terrible thing to happen to such a good girl. IVF in Las Vegas coming up soon. Adoption seminars, too. Gotta clear my schedule w/ Cicely and Laura.
Bought a total Gym over the weekend. Jo's more excited than me. It looks fun. It's gonna stay in our bedroom. Nice sale at Sportmart got us 33% off the damn thing. Finally a salesperson was able to help us out with it and try it out. Felt like Chuck Norris, and Jo looked like a young, hot Christie Brinkley. Uptown Girl.

Got called into work on Tuesday night, so I had to rest up on Tuesday afternoon and evening. Also went to the training on boundaries, tx review for JO, and house meeting on Wednesday. Got a promotion, and more importantly, a raise! Yippee! Couldn't do all the things I wanted to this week, so I gotta postpone it for next week. Gotta concentrate on my interactive this Friday.
Didn't sleep for 24 hours straight, so I was knocked out on Wednesday evening. Even missed the A's game, but I'm glad I did. They got blown out by the Sox......again. Today's game was much more competitive, but the A's still managed to lose to Nomah and da crew on the strength of a double that scored Johnny Damon, with a close play at the plate. I hate that Grizzly Adams freak. He's overrated. We didn't do shit when he was in Oakland.
Went to Jo's acupuncture, walked Gilbey around Fourth Street in Berkeley. Motherfucker growled off this nice looking chocolate lab, which pissed me off royally. Then he started getting ornary with me. I didn't want to reprimand him in public, but I had him do a down stay for a good 5 minutes. Later, he was ok when another Jindo growled at him. Gilbs just ignored him/her. Ate at this nice outdoor place called Santa Fe Bistro. The food was good, but expensive, and the service was impeccable. Gilbey got the bones from my baby back ribs. Jo had a really good salmon dish with Basmati rice infused with a bunch of lemon. Then I got coffee ice cream at B & J's. God, I miss going to Berkeley. I almost wish I could go back and get my Master's in Education from there instead of CSUH. CSUH ain't doing it for me. Maybe they have something in environmental ed or even just ESPM. Maybe in 5-10 years, I'll have an itch to go back to school for a year or two, and work exclusively at night for the group home. I'm glad I always have that option. Right now, I'm sick of school, and would like to establish a firm footing in EE.
Went to Michael's crafts in SL tonight and bought a bunch of stuff for my interactive tomorrow, some batting, foam, and contact paper for the bench seats, and a clear plastic box for a worm bin.
Jo and I watched Celebrity Poker Showdown and BB5. Jennie Garth was on and she looked good. Still, Jo looks better than her. BB5 was cool. I hate Marvin, the black dude. He's a slimy mother fucker.
Set up the recycling, garbage, and green waste. Made it difficult for the waste management asshole to retrieve it. Fuck you garbage boy. Walked and continued training w/ Belly. Chick still doesn't understand to stay on the sidewalk.
On tap tomorrow: jog Tilden in the morning, scope out interactive site, set up, and do. Get groceries at Whole Foods, and bring home lunch.

Worked last night alone, and enjoyed it. Didn't do too much laundry; the kids' laundry that night was already done. Just left stuff in the dryer for D because he left me a bunch last week. Found out from Cicely that I'm working July 5 but not 4. So next week I'm on Fri, Sat, Mon, and prolly Thurs. I'll probably be floated to another house on Thurs.
Had our residential picnic today. Got paid for 4-5 hours of fucking aroung at Lake Chabot. I should have brought my dog, since Yvonne brought Honey bear, but I wouldn't have been able to play. On second thought, I'm glad I decided not to. Passed by the Fairmont Animal Shelter. Still feeling guilty about not being able to pull Jarrah the Jindo. I hope he was adopted out; I don't even want to know what happened to him. Can't foster any dogs at the moment. Full house and plans for a pregnancy. Also, Jingo won't be adopted out unless I find the right home. I should update his info soon on Petfinder. I've fallen in love with him, though. He's such a spaz, that it will be hard for both of us if we decide to adopt him out. But in the long run, being able to foster more dogs will be good. It's just very stressful, but very rewarding.
Slept like a baby from 5-10:30p. Jo and Ron hung out, ate fried chicken, and now Ron's asleep on the couch.
