Works been cool, man. It's such a chill job. Half of the time, my boss isn't even there. It doesn't mean I'm slacking off, though. I've been working hard to recruit teachers from Oakland, Antioch, Martinez, and San Leandro to do our 4-R's and Watershed Action Program. It's really a great program, and cheap for teachers with our varios grants, but teachers are always skeptical of "solicitors". Shit, we're practically teaching their class, and teaching THEM in the meanwhile, so they can do the program in future years.

There's just lots of paperwork and meetings and phone calls. I ain't trippin' though. Nothing had the amount of phone calls and public contact than my Recreation job. And nothing carried the stress of teaching High School. Check out my "It's like this" blog soon regarding my various jobs the past decade or so. My co-workers are trippy, and they're all chicas. At least, they can laugh at shit. Most people take work too seriously.

Let's see, what else have I been up to.....went to a 35th surprise Anniversary party for Uncle Eddie and Auntie Alice. Edward, Edwin, Molly, and Joyce set it up and it was great. All of the Tanjocos were there and it was held in Roseville at a restaurant called Cascades. Pretty fufu for Roseville. I sat next to Hugo, Lianne, Alex, Auntie Marianne, and Uncle I forgot, but they're the couple whose son, Timothy, died in a car crash on UC Blvd. a few years ago.

We've finally been sucked into the Ledesdma triangle. Let me explain. First, our buddy, Norbert, marries Jay Ledesma. Next, our other buddy, Paul, marries Jay's sister, Janette. Then, Jay's cousin, Lianne, starts going out with out other buddy, Hugo. It was quite and incest-fest. Finally, Lianne is good friends with the Tanjoco clan because she went to school with Edwin and Joyce. Whew! At least she isn't related to them. That would be just too weird.

Highlights of the party:
-sat w/ Alex. I sure dig that kid. For a twenty-year old, he's got his priorities straight. He's very respectful, kind, and motivated. Not to mention his 15-year old sister, Maria, whose also got her head straight on her shoulders. All throughout the party, I was trying to get him to ask out the cute waitress. Even though I was flirting with her a little, myself. Couldn't go full-bore, though. I was amongst family! BTW, Jo was in LV, but I had to tell a little white lie, cuz we don't want to worry family by telling them that Jo was getting surgery. Also, it would mean that we would have to tell them the full story. Instead, I told everyone that Jo was getting a bridesmaid fitting for Jenn's wedding coming up.
-really poignant moments. Auntie Alice and Uncle Eddie were genuinely surprised. And Auntie Alice was crying. ALso a bunch of folk serenaded them, and performed on their own.
-hung out w/ Eliza, Timothy, and Kyle. Those little boogers are so cute.
-chilled with the cousins. I found out from Paul that he named Kyle after Kyle Rainer, the Green Arrow. Also, he named Timothy after Timothy Drake, the Green Lantern. He even gave them those middle names, Rainer and Drake, respectively. What a comic buff.
-pretty good food. The crab cakes were delicious!
-Chris drove me, Dad, Uncle Jaime, and Auntie Conching, while I got some zzzzz's. Snored like a hippo.

Lowlights of the party: saw LD. What a jerk-wad.

Also worked at the group home on the weekends. MB and MS have been off the hook. They've been assaultive, sexually acting out, and just been little shits. I swear somebody needs to break off MB. And when he gives me the chance, I'm gonna inflict some of the smae shit he's been giving to staff. If I was a kid at his age, I would have already pounded his face in the concrete. I hate to say it, but the kid needs a good beating. Our program is not really helping him. Let's see him spend a night in juvie, and we'll see how tough of a motherfucker he really is. When he's blowing out, he's challenging staff, stepping up like he's gonna fight, claiming East Oakland, and shit like that. Shut your trap, pussy. You listen to Backstreet Boys and the Little Mermaid, and you play with friggin' Beyblades. I apologize for my rant and rave. I really don't wish any harm on the kid. I'm just getting my frustration out.

Gonna have a very busy last week of September and whole month of October. I'm gonna be starting school on Thursday, going to two outreach events for KftB on a Saturday, going to Kennifer's wedding (that's Jen and Ken), and starting teaching within the schools.

It's been a chill labor day weekend. After an uneventful 15 hour shift at Parsons on Saturday, we went to Tita Weng's in the Richmond district of SF. She's the consul general for the Philippine Embassy, so she has a bunch of katulongs and drivers. The house is big, too. Nice view of the Golden Gate bridge and the Marin Headlands. Met Gabi for the first time. He's a good kid; I wonder what "disability" he has. We played Harry Potter on the PS2, but used the eye-camera to play. It was pretty fun. Jo and I carpooled with Ma, Pa, Neesha, and Mikey. Chilled at night and watched US beat up on El Salvador.

On Monday, cleaned up the kitchen, foyer, dining room table, and washed clothes. Then went to Gina and Tom's to celebrate Tom's new job as a Union City Police Officer. It was fun chillin' with family, friends, and even Joey, Verna's cousin was there. He used to work w/ Tom at the software company. Also met a neat couple w/ two boys, one of which has autism.

Jo's been hogging the computer lately, so I've gotta jet. I also busted the laptop downstairs. Got fed up with it, and trashed it. Oh well, maybe John can hook me up with another one.

Whew, it's been a long week. Went to camp at the Valley of the Moon on Monday. Before that, I had the longest Monday ever. In order to get ready for camp, I brought the Camry into the shop. I left it there while I was at camp and corresponded with the mechanic and Jo over the cell phone. Luckily there was a signal on top of the hill that I pitched my tent at. Then I had a fit with my Rodeo, because I finally had to drive it at night, which meant I had to finally fix the broken headlight. That was a major pain in the ass. The Rodeo headlight was so fixed into the truck that I stripped four screws, used some elbow grease and a little muscle, and broke pieces of the damn thing. When I finally got the lights in, I discovered they were cross-eyed. Thus, no sleep on Monday, and I was gonna do the overnight shift at camp.

Camp was cool. Other than having to deal with MB and his bullshit, I had a lot of fun. The kid pissed me off so much at 4:30 in the morning that I had to set him in his place. Of course, he targeted me the rest of camp. Tuesday morning was nice; just ate breakfast with the kids and staff, set up camp on top of the hill, and slept for three hours. Three hours of which was the only rest I got for three days straight. That was a dumb move. I felt rested after that so I decided to go to a Japanese spa and get a cedar mulch bath treatment and a full-body massage. I was rested to say the least. I drove an hour away so when I was done, I got back just in time to work my second overnight.

Wednesday was hard. I went directly from camp to my first day at Kids for the Bay. I thought I would have some time to chill at Strada, but I was stuck in traffic for 2-1/2 hours. So I went directly to work. I was cool for a while. But 1 o'clock rolled around, I hit the wall and started to nod off. Luckily, my new co-workers told me that I did well. They didn't even notice that I was tired as a mother. Once I got home at 6pm, I was out....I mean OUT until 6am on Thursday morning. Worked the whole day, went to PF Changs w/ Jo, Ron, Alvin, and Jimmy, and argued with Alvin for an hour. He's still on Bush. What a nut. Got home at 10pm or so and discovered a note on my front door. Argued w/ Jo about it for a while. It was one of my neighbors saying to stop our dogs from barking or they will "report us to the authorities." I got so pissed that I came out of the house and started yelling at fools. I even started playing with my dogs to piss whoever it was off. I was pissed at Jo, too, so I slept downstairs.

Friday morning rolled around, and I went in to work. Worked for a minute and went home and slept most of the evening and night. Went into Parsons on Saturday to work a 15-hour shift. I'm just getting off of it, no serious issues, restraints, blowouts, but I'm still tired as a mug. 65 hours of work in a week, and I"m ready for Labor Day weekend.
